Catherine Coulombe is a self-educated jeweler. This great artist never ceases to impress with her creations, both eccentric and accessible (are you trying to say that they are easy to access? If so, leave the word “accessible”). Stained glass luminosity and the lustre of tin enhance each of her creations. In order to develop fabulous pieces, she combines in her work different curves and asymmetry, where stained glass meets tin, wood, feathers, wrought iron and wool. Her jewels stand out by their originality and radiance, inspired by extravagance and fluidity.

After a fashion design course, Catherine still felt compelled to push her creativity further and opted for jewelry. This new medium allows her to fulfill her curiosity, discover new techniques and respond to her creative desires. Though the artist has been exploring the jeweler’s world for the last few years, it is through work with stained glass that her company « Les Créations à Cath ». What originated as necklace and bracelet sales to close friends soon blossomed in popularity, and now her ‘mini sculptures’ are a valued presence at expositions, salons’ and boutiques.

Art allows open-mindedness with regards to extravagance, and extravagance allows art to exist.
